A day after she met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at the Raj Bhavan in Dehradun, Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya said she has tested positive for Covid-19 and is self-isolating as per doctors’ advice.

Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Sunday. Maurya made the announcement in a tweet, asking all those who came in contact with her in recent days to get themselves tested.
“My corona test report came back positive. I am asymptomatic and have no problems. I have isolated myself under the supervision of the doctors. Those of you who have come in close contact with me in the last few days, please be cautious and get yourself checked,” Baby Rani Maurya said on Twitter.

In a statement on Sunday, the Raj Bhavan in Dehradun said that Governor Baby Rani Maurya was in Agra for a week’s holiday and returned to the city only on Friday evening. “Saturday and Sunday were holidays. Because Raj Niwas and Governor’s Secretariat are far apart and different, she did not come in contact with any employee. This is why the Governor’s Secretariat will operate as before,” the statement added.
The state of Uttarakhand reported 466 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, pushing its tally of confirmed cases to 71,256. Uttarakhand government’s Health Department also reported another 251 recoveries and nine more Covid-related deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.
Earlier this month, Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya (83) and Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan (69), and Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal (78) tested positive for Covid-19.
