A woman teacher in government primary school of UP was shot dead by one of her male colleagues on Saturday.
A woman teacher, 35, in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh’s government primary school was shot dead by one of her male colleagues in the school premises in broad daylight on Saturday, said police. The 35-year-old woman died before being rushed to the hospital.
Aradhna Roy, an assistant teacher was shot twice by her male colleague, said Sitapur’s Superintendent of Police RP Singh.
The incident took place when the two were indulged in an argument over an entry regarding casual leaves in the school register. The argument had made Kaushal furious and he shot dead Aradhna, police said.
The male teacher has been identified as Amit Kaushal.
According to police, Aradhna seemingly had an affair with Kaushal, however, their relations had turned sour recently.
Earlier, the woman teacher had also registered a complaint against Kaushal to the school authorities, after which an inquiry was conducted and Kaushal was issued a warning.
The body of the deceased has been sent for post mortem and the accused has been arrested, police added.
