Ratan Tata named his office dog Goa. Here’s the viral story behind it


What did Ratan Tata do on Diwali? In a new post on Instagram on Wednesday, Ratan Tata shared a picture of the “heartwarming moments” that he spent with his pet dogs on Diwali at Bombay House, the global headquarters of Tata Group in the Maharashtra capital. In fact, one of the dogs is called Goa and if you want to know the story behind it, read on.

WHAT DID RATAN TATA POST ON INSTAGRAM?

Ratan Tata, dressed in a shirt and pants, put on his face mask and stationed himself on the steps at Bombay House as he made the most of every moment with several dogs. At the Bombay House, a special kennel has been constructed for stray dogs living in and around the area.

Goa, a black and white dog, seems to be Ratan Tata’s favourite.

“A few heartwarming moments with the adopted Bombay House dogs this Diwali, especially Goa, my office companion,” Ratan Tata said in the caption of his post.

WHY DID RATAN TATA NAME HIS OFFICE DOG GOA?

If you are wondering how Goa got his name, Ratan Tata revealed the story in the comments section of his viral post. One of the users enquired, “Is Goa the name of the dog? What’s the story behind naming it so?”

Ratan Tata responded, saying, “He was a stray puppy when he got into my colleague’s car in Goa, and came all the way to Bombay House, hence the name Goa.”

WHO IS RATAN TATA?

Rata Tata was the Chairman of Tata Sons from 1991 till his retirement on December 28, 2012. He is the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons.
