Mahesh Babu is bowled over by Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru. Shine on brother


Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, on Wednesday (November 18) night, showered praises on Suriya and Aparna Balamurali’s Soorarai Pottru. The film, which started streaming on Amazon Prime Video from November 12, is garnering rave responses from both audiences as well as critics. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film is a fictionalised version of the book, Simply Fly, written on the life of Air Deccan founder Capt. GR Gopinath, a retired army captain.

MAHESH BABU LOVES SOORARAI POTTRU

Mahesh Babu took to Twitter to praise Suriya’s performance in the film. He appreciated the content of the film and called it an inspiring journey.

Mahesh Babu wrote, “#SooraraiPottru What an inspiring film!! Brilliantly directed with amazing performances… @Suriya_offl in top form Shine on brother..Congrats to the entire team @Aparnabala2 @Sudhakongara_of @gvprakash @nikethbommi (sic).”

Many celebrities down South including Madhavan, Vijay Deverakonda, Vishnu Vishal and Arun Vijay expressed their love for the film. Soorarai Pottru covers almost every aspect of Gopinath’s life – his village days, his stint with the Army, farming and his launching of Air Deccan.

Suriya, in one of his earlier statements, had said, “Sorrarai Pottru is a very special movie for me and one that’s very close to my heart. With this film, we want to bring out the message that nothing in this world can stop you from chasing your dreams if you are true to yourself and dedicated to the task.”

The film is jointly produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment. It also features Paresh Rawal, Jackie Shroff and Mohan Babu in significant roles. Soorarai Pottru’s technical team also includes composer GV Prakash, cinematographer Niketh Bommireddy and editor Sathish Suriya.

SURIYA’S UPCOMING PROJECTS

Suriya is currently shooting for the Netflix anthology Navarasa with director Gautham Menon. He is also working on the pre-production of his upcoming film with director Vetri Maaran. The film, titled Vaadivaasal, is based on Jallikattu, a popular sport in Tamil Nadu.
