BPF MP Biswajit Daimary and sitting MLA Emmanuel Mosahary will join BJP on November 22.
Assam finance minister and convenor of BJP-led North East Democrati Alliance (NEDA) Himanta BiswaSarma on Thursday said that one sitting MLA from opposition parties in the state – the Congress party and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) will join BJP soon.
BPF MP Biswajit Daimary and sitting MLA Emmanuel Mosahary will join BJP on November 22, Sarma said.
“Another sitting Congress MLA Rajdeep Gowala will also join BJP by the end of this month or first in the month of December,” Sarma added.
Rajdeep Gowala is a Congress MLA from Lakhipur assembly constituency in Assam’s Barak Valley. He was expelled by the Congress party on October 9 for a period of six years for indulging in anti-party activities.
According to sources, the development comes ahead of the assembly polls in Assam and several sitting MLAs are in touch with BJP.
“Now it is not 2016 andit is not possible to accommodate everybody. If we can accommodate someone then we will convey them. But, if we can’t accommodate them then we will tell them frankly that you can join but you may not get the nomination,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
